The Harbor Rats are a new band hailing from Marin County, CA. They play a mix of old and new rock with their own take on many classic cover tunes. Lead singer, Julie Keigley, has been a Bay Area resident for the past 8 years.
While in San Francisco, Julie sang with the Glide Memorial Gospel Choir for 3 years moved to Marin and found her next project, Juice, a Sonoma based cover band. In addition to playing with various Marin based musicians, she has played with Michael Lamacchia's Organic Jive Collective and is featured on his latest live CD. Her musical influences include Lucinda Williams, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin and Chrissie Hynde.
Peter has been playing guitar since his early years in high school. He played in a variety of bands covering styles from blues and rock to funk and jazz. When he's not playing with the Rats, Peter works as a ferry boat captain on SF Bay and beyond. Alex has been playing bass for 15 years with various bands in Mexico, Los Angeles, and San Francisco playing everything from alternative original material, to classic rock and tributes. His influences include Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Stuart Hamm, and Dave Larue.
Steve migrated west from the East Coast, to Chicago, to San Francisco 15 years ago. He has played with Numerous Bay Area bands including Dionysus, Lowfat Handshake, and the Adrianne Serna Band, all of which have enjoyed local success playing at top Bay Area venues and getting local radio airplay.
